1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Touring

Details

We are pleased to offer for sale this Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Touring. The most emblematic model in Porsche’s illustrious history and the first ever to adorn the now synonymous ‘RS’ moniker. Developed to meet motorsport homologation requirements, the RS had a larger engine displacement over other 911’s of that period with an increase in power to 210hp. Other performance enhancements came thanks to revised and stiffened suspension, larger brakes, wider rear wheels and arches and of course the now iconic ‘Ducktail’ rear spoiler.

One of just 93 UK supplied, right hand drive examples and confirmed as matching numbers and an original ‘non-sunroof’ car. This excellent example is still finished in its original factory colour of Grand Prix White with Blue lettering and comes with an extensive history file dating right back to 1973. Within the file is a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, documented ownership transfers dating back to the very first owner, maintenance records throughout its life and more recently a thorough in depth mechanical and cosmetic inspection by one of the country’s leading Porsche specialists, Maxted-Page.

Having undergone a paint refresh in 1998 by RS Panels, the car still presents very well and has just undergone an annual service at Tuthill Porsche. In the last 10 years whilst covering less than 7,000 miles, the car has benefited from a full suspension overhaul and gearbox rebuild. The history file really does need to be seen to be fully appreciated.

The car comes complete with original drivers manual and owners supplement and a full set of brand new, period correct tyres will be fitted prior to sale so the car can be enjoyed in all it’s glory.
